Centaurea montana – Perennial Cornflower

Centaurea coming from ancient Greek fables in which is said to have healed a wound in the foot of Chiron, one of the Centaurs. Montana of the mountains.

Native to most of central Europe however not Britain, although it has now naturalised in many areas.
